+ 3D Character Animator

Vancouver, Canada - Full Time - Contract

V2 Games is looking for a 3D Character Animator to assist us in the development of new unannounced mobile game.

Responsibilities

  • Create commercial quality animation using a variety of software tools within the established style and guidelines
  • Consistently meet high standards of quality and champion visual quality across the studio
  • Utilize Maya, Unity, Photoshop and other software to create game-ready animations
  • Collaborate with other artists, designers and programmers to develop asset development strategies that maximize quality, reduce overhead and simplify integration into the game
  • Actively contribute to art reviews and feedback
  • Maintain an organized central repository of art files
  • Resolve animation-related bugs in the game
  • Meet project quotas, deadlines, milestones, as set by project leads
  • Assist with solving technical problems and/or optimizations to ensure smooth game play
  • Keep up with the latest industry trends by investigate new techniques, remain updated on current art production tools and software

Requirements

  • A well-rounded portfolio that demonstrates the ability to meet a wide array of animation styles and a strong sense of visual and spatial design
  • Excellent knowledge of Photoshop, Maya and Unity.
  • Intermediate skills in rigging.
  • 3 years experience producing video game art or other relevant role
  • Previously shipped at least one title as a 3D Character Animator from start to finish in a team environment
  • Truly enjoys working with others
  • Takes the initiative to solve problems and is professional during the follow through
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Excels in a work space defined by collaboration

+ Unity Developer (Mobile Development)

We are seeking a developer responsible for building mobile games based on the Unity framework. Your primary responsibilities will be to implement game functionality translating design ideas, concepts, and requirements into a functional and engaging game. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and a quality product are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement game functionality according to game design and UX documentation.
  • Communicate with other team members to establish effective pipeline and integrate media assets.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.

Skills
